Baroque Festival : Valletta Strings Masterclasses 2014 [fr]

Supported by the French Embassy, D’Daddario strings and the Manoel Theatre, Valletta’s Strings Masterclasses 2014 under title is “Performing Baroque period music on modern instruments”.
The lessons would take place while the prestigious Valletta International Baroque Festival 2014 is taking place, on which the students would have chance to hear both their tutors perform the world premiere of J.S. Bach’s “Goldberg Variations” arranged for string trio, Violin, Viola and Double Bass (arr. Cincievski) as well as hear concerts by some of the leading figures in today’s Baroque performance world.

Requirement for participation of these masterclasses is that all the students need to prepare at least one Baroque piece (unaccompanied or accompanied). However, any other material that the students wish to bring apart from the Baroque period pieces, to these masterclasses to work on with the tutors is accepted and encouraged.

During the masterclasses there will be presentation and testing of D’Daddario violin and viola strings and some of the participants will be given free set of strings.
These students will be chosen by small open audition for which they can apply prior to the start of the masterclasses. Those chose will have the opportunity to play solo piece at the wonderful chamber music hall - Sala Isouard at the Manoel Theatre for the closing evening of the Valletta String Masterclasses 2014

The fee for participation on these masterclasses is 80 Euros for active participants and 20 Euros for passive participants.
