Francis Marmande, Le Monde, 27/08/2012

Bataille’s work is marked by the transgression and the refusal to pursue a career as literary rules. After a beginning in marginal journals, it was only after the war that the author meets fame with the creation of "Critique", which takes a prominent place in the French revue scene, and the publication of his books. Subversive artist, his engagement extends beyond literature by mixing some distant literary genres such as anthropology, philosophy, art history, theology, literary criticism, economics and political sciences in his writing.
