Professor at the Sorbonne (Paris IV), Alain Blondy is a specialist of the history of the Mediterranean world from the sixteenth to the early nineteenth century. He also teaches the history of ideas and communication policies in the Western world at the same time. He is mainly interested in Malta, the Order of Malta and Barbary Regencies.
His latest book "Malta 7000 years of history" (Paris, Bouchene), was published in 2011.
