Conference on the economic attractiveness of France in the context of the Invest in France Month [fr]
The Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Economy and Finance organized the Invest in France Month in November, an operation involving the entire network of French embassies abroad, designed to promote and support the attractiveness of France as a destination for foreign investment.
In this context, the Ambassador of France in Malta, Béatrice the Fraper of Hellen, organized on November 30 in Valletta a conference to make better known the assets of France to invest, and promote the development French-Maltese economic relations.
The conference was an opportunity for the President of the French-Maltese Chamber of Commerce, Mr. Joseph Bugeja, to present his role in the animation of the local business community. A presentation of the French economy and ongoing reforms by Vincent Guitton, Head of the Regional Economic Department of South-East Europe (in residence in Italy) was also proposed to the participants, who represented companies, investment funds, consulting firms and Maltese public institutions.
The growth potential of Maltese investments in France is significant : France currently ranks 20th among foreign destinations for Maltese investors, with a stock of direct Maltese investments in France of € 254 million in 2015 (latest data available).
Promoting the attractiveness of France and conducting foreign investors to France are done by the Embassy as well as by Business France (a public support agency to export and attract foreign investments), which has an office located in Milan (Italy) competent for Malta.
