Decentralized Cooperation

The external action of the French territorial communities, their decentralized cooperation, recognized by law since 1992, supported by the State, is now a political and insitutional reality, a valeur sûre of the external action of France.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs encourages decentralized cooperation in providing local services to its network of embassies and experts from the Quai d’Orsay.

In Malta, the decentralized cooperation lead to a jumelage in 2005 between French town of Rousset (Bouches-du-Rhone, 13) and the Maltese city of Kirkop.
