The French Embassy in Malta with the Alliance Française de Malte-Mediterannée, the Centre Franco-Maltais, the APFM and SfCE, under the patronage of the Malta Community Chest Found are organizing a concert on the 8th of April at the Catholic Institute in Floriana on the occasion of the Francophonie festival.
Everybody is invited; do not hesitate to share this event with your family and friends!
Abaji is a multi-instrumentalist, born in Lebanon, living in France and of an armenian-greek-turkish-syrian and lebanese extraction: The perfect Mediterranean Musician!
For Abaji, languages are like musical instruments and he sings in the 5 languages of his family: French, Arabic, Armenian, Turkish and Greek.
He plays a greek bouzouki and a turkish mandolin (saz) and a black sea violin (kemenche) and a bamboo clarinet, and flutes and percussion and, most of all, a special instrument he invented as a missing link between the spanish guitar and the oriental lute: the oud-guitar. A link between the different shores of our beloved sea.
Abaji composes and plays a World Music rooted in the Blues.
The concert will take place at the Catholic Institute in Floriana, Triq San Publiju at 4p.m.
