French and Italian Ambassadors visit STMicroelectronics [fr]
On 14 December 2017, French Ambassador Béatrice le Fraper du Hellen and Italian Ambassador Mario Sammartino visited the STMicroelectronics factory in Malta.
STMicroelectronics is a French-Italian company and one of the world leaders in semiconductor manufacturing. The Maltese unit in Kirkop exports highly sophisticated microelectronic systems and employs 1 800 people. It is the largest exporter in Malta with 34% of the country’s total exports.
The Executive Vice President of STMicroelectronics, Fabio Gualandris, presents the activities of the Maltese plant to French and Italian ambassadors in the presence of the general manager of the Maltese factory, Giancarlo Ginami, and senior consultant Tonio Portughese, a recent recipient of the French Légion d’Honneur.
