Légion d’honneur presented to Mr Tonio Portughese on Good France evening
On March 21, the Ambassador presented the Légion d’honneur to Mr Tonio Portughese. Prime Minister Joseph Muscat attended the ceremony. The following diner was prepared by famous French chef Julien Duboué for Good France 2017
In her speech, the Ambassador recalled Mr Portughese’s long-term involvement in strengthening relations between France and Malta, both when working at STMicroelectronics and now as the Chairman of PBS. She also highlighted his constant defense of tolerance and openness.
Prime Minister Joseph Muscat attended the ceremony, as well as other guests chosen between Mr Portughese’s closest friends and colleagues.
The diner given for the occasion celebrated the South-western region of France. Prepared by the famous French Chef Julien Duboué and his assistant Matthieu Robillard, for their first time in Malta, the menu proposed a modern reinterpretation of classical recipes from this region, using though a lot of Maltese products.
The whole event was in line with Good France’s vision : the best possible diner is about getting dear friends together, enjoying a simple and quality cuisine based on local healthy products.
