Malta International Organ Festival 2017 : Concert by the French organist Maurice Clerc [fr]

The Malta International Organ Festival will take place from 21 November to 7 December 2017. The French organist Maurice Clerc will play a concert on 2 December at St Augustine Church in Valletta, with the support of the French Embassy.


The Malta International Organ Fetival gathers every year several dozens of international artists in the greatest Maltese churches.

The French Embassy supports once again the Festival and notably the French organist Maurice Clerc who will play a concert on Saturday 2 December at 8.00 pm at St Augustine Church in Valletta.

Maurice Clerc

Born in Lyon in 1946, Maurice Clerc is awarded a diploma at the Ecole Normale of Music in Paris. At the Higher National Conservatory for Music of Paris, he obtains, in 1975, a First prize of organ. He wins the Prize of Improvisation in the international competition of Lyon in 1977.

Maurice Clerc is Titular organist of the cathedral in Dijon since 1972. He was also a professor to the Conservatory of Dijon and lecturer at the University for over twenty years.

His numerous concerts, approximately 1300 recitals in some twenty countries a were worth to him an international reputation.
