Researchers from abroad are invited to apply for a post-doctoral or senior research grant in a public laboratory in Paris. Supporting research across all disciplines is one of the City of Paris’ priorities. Read about the invitation for online applications at Paris.fr.
Strengthening the international scientific appeal of the capital is a policy priority for the city council. Since 2003, the City of Paris has been offering a selective programme for post-doctoral and senior researchers from abroad, enabling public laboratories in Paris to reinforce their collaborative work with other major cities.
Jean-Louis Missika, Deputy Mayor responsible for Innovation, Research and Universities states: “207 researchers have already come to Paris as a result of this scheme. Given the success of this programme and the absolute requirement to invest in the knowledge economy, I would like the city to make an even larger contribution by doubling its annual budget to 1.75 million euros, which represents approximately 80 grants per year”.
All disciplines are eligible
Researchers from all disciplines are eligible. The scientific excellence of their application (applicant – project – host laboratory) is the main selection criterion for the experts on the City of Paris Scientific Committee responsible for considering the applications.
New for 2009:
• All applications must be submitted online at the City of Paris website: www.recherche.paris.fr , in order to ensure a better service for applicants.
• All public laboratories in Paris are eligible, including those which have already received researchers from abroad under this scheme in previous years.
• Trilingual invitation for applications in English, Spanish and French.
