Hubert Reynouard - Biography

Born in Marseille in 1969, Hubert Reynouard is a graduate of the Marseille National Music Academy and was a student of Helen and Peter Cesaro Barbizet during which time he earned the prestigious Gold Medal in 1991, as well as many writing prizes (for harmony, counterpoint, fugue). He was then able to work under the guidance of Frédéric Aguessy, Jacques Rouvier and Claude Helffer and boasts a degree in Musicology.

Eclectic and versatile in his musical style, Hubert Reynouard eventually turned to Gabriel Fauré and Maurice Ohana, most notably performing Argentine tango music and becoming a member of the Flor de quinteto quintet from 1998 to 2005. He also performed theatre and literature roles by performing in many duos which combined music and text devoted to Brecht, Buzzati or Prévert as part of the Egrégore company and working with the likes of actress Danielle Stefan and soprano Elisabeth Aubert. In addition to several solo recitals and chamber music concerts in the Philharmonic Orchestra of the Opéra de Marseille and a long collaboration with vocal ensembles of his region, his taste for composers of his time led him to regularly participate in concerts within the category class of Georges Boeuf at the CNR of Marseille, and which eventually led to him meeting and now performing with the Ensemble Telemaque since 1996.

Finally, as a holder of a State Diploma, he has also devoted himself to teaching through the use of his own artistic heritage.
