This partnership program between the Public Hospitals of Paris [“Assistance Publique - Hôpitaux de Paris (AP- HP)”] and the College of Medicine at the Hospitals of Paris [“Collège de Médecine des Hôpitaux de Paris (CMHP)”] wishes to provide to the very best candidates a year of specialist training within a Public Hospital facility in Paris. (AP- HP).

This program applies to those who are either coming to the end of their specialization course or who have just taken office at a specialized position.

This program‘s objective is to:
- To raise the profile of French medicine to foreign establishments ;
- To improve the training of foreign doctors ;
- To contribute to the opening and strengthening of international cooperation within the health sector.

The first foreign residents of the Paris hospitals were trained in 1956 under the initiative of the College of Medicine at the Hospitals of Paris (CMHP), working in partnership with the Public Hospitals of Paris (AP-HP) de Paris.

Since 1984, nearly 1,200 foreign residents have undertaken a year-long training the College of Medicine - Hospitals of Paris.

Each year, 35 foreign residents are hired for 2 semesters under the IFF scheme. The selection panel will pay particular attention to the publication work of candidates and to the endorsements and awards they have received.
