Teaching French in Malta : meeting with French teachers in Gozo [fr]
As part of the Embassy’s support to the teaching of French in Malta, Jean-Baptiste Prévost, Counselor for Cooperation and Cultural Action at the French Embassy in Malta, visited the Sir Michelangelo Refalo Institute in Victoria, Gozo on 22 September 2017.
Jean-Baptiste Prévost, Cultural Advisor and Daniel James Cassar, Director of the S.M. Refalo Institute
He was welcomed by the school’s director, Daniel James Cassar, and Maureen Muscat, who represented the school’s French teachers.
This trip was an opportunity to meet French teachers from several institutions on the island of Gozo, during an information meeting organized by the Association de Professeurs de Français de Malte (APFM). The aim of this gathering was to inform French teachers of the association’s activities and to present the support of the Embassy to the teaching of French.
The APFM works on the promotion of French on the archipelago by organizing lifelong learnings and distributing educational content to teachers.
The teachers were reminded of the support of the French Embassy, in particular by inviting them to participate to its annual program of educational and linguistic scholarships.
The Embassy thanks Céline McCarthy, President, Angèle Vella Lauwers, Vice-President and Maureen Muscat, Member of the APFM Board of Directors for organising this visit.
