United Nations – Overview of the 30th session of the Human Rights Council (Geneva, Sept. 14 - Oct. 2) [fr]
France applauds the work done by the Human Rights Council during its 30th session.
France’s commitment and that of its EU partners, led to decisions on key issues: a resolution on the death penalty, the renewal of the mandate of the independent expert on the human rights situation in the Central African Republic, and a mandate for the high commissioner for human rights to assess and report on the human rights situation in Burundi.
We are also pleased by the adoption of a resolution on the human rights situation in Sri Lanka, which brings hope for national reconciliation. Finally, the Council adopted a resolution on human rights in Yemen.
