Visit to the European Parliament by Nathalie Loiseau (Strasbourg, 24 October 2017) [fr]
Nathalie Loiseau, minister for European affairs, attached to the minister for Europe and foreign affairs, is in Strasbourg today for the plenary session of the European Parliament as part of her regular dialogue with European – and particularly French – deputies.
She will be meeting in particular with Sylvie Guillaume, vice president of the European Parliament; Nathalie Griesbeck, chair of the Special Committee on Counter Terrorism; Alain Cadec, chair of the Committee on Fisheries; David McAllister, chair of the Foreign Affairs Committee; and Karima Delli, chair of the Committee on Transport and Tourism. Ms. Loiseau will also meet with Esteban González Pons, head of the Spanish delegation to the European People’s Party.
These meetings will provide an opportunity to review major European issues, particularly the revision of the Posting of Workers Directive in the wake of the ambitious agreement reached on October 23 at the Council of EU Ministers responsible for jobs and social affairs. We are counting on the European Parliament to uphold this agreement, to still more effectively combat fraud, and to better protect Europeans.
While in Strasbourg, Ms. Loiseau will hold talks with French European Parliament directors and directors-general on the French presence in that institution.
